Practicing Physical Therapy Overseas
Arkansas State Girl Abroad
I'm a country girl... A small-town girl... Girl next door type. I was born and raised in Arkansas, U.S.A. I went to undergrad at Arkansas State University and later physical therapy school there as well. Eight years y'all! That's a lot of parking fines for those of you that know what I'm talking about.
I always had to grind not having come from money. Money just wasn't in the cards for me and it has never really meant that much to me either. But I did have big dreams and a love for travel. So I went to school to get a solid degree that I could use in a variety of ways and in a variety of places to help people. And of course it was also important for me to pick a career that would allow me the financial means to travel. A doctorate degree in physical therapy is not an inexpensive way to make money by the way, but I can rest assured that no machine will ever take my job! Having said that, I will be paying for this degree for most of my life so thank goodness for job security.
In my wildest dreams, I never could have imagined my earlier choices would lead me to practicing overseas, with my husband, and experiencing the world. There is no door that my education hasn't allowed me to open. I am so grateful for the versatility my profession has afforded me.
